Chinese Car-Maker SAIC to Unveil New Compact Electric Car

Various companies have presented their eco-friendly vehicles at the Beijing Auto Show.

One of these companies is SAIC, a Chinese car-maker that will soon start producing its new car, badged as a Roewe and called E1.

The nice-looking compact electric vehicle weights just 1,040 kilograms.

mm.e the Compact Electric Car You Can Assemble At Home

Designed by Adam Danko, this vehicle is intended to be used in an agglomerated urban environment. Dubbed the “mm.e” (micro mobility – electric), the car boasts great driving features and low price.

The sporty mm.e is 2.7 meters long and it will be available via the Internet – the users will have the possibility to order it as a package and assembled the car at home using screwdriver.

Geely Presents Compact Solar Hybrid Vehicle at Beijing Auto Show

Visitors of the Beijing Auto Show were able to witness the presentation of the new eco-friendly vehicle from Geely. The IG model has its hood covered with solar panels.

The compact car also boasts a hybrid power train to provide a fuel-efficient driving.

So far the company did not provide any information on when it will start the mass production of its new vehicle.

GM Unveils Specs on Volt Minivan

The new minivan from GM has a propulsion system that can be found inside the company’s other vehicle from the same family – the Chevy Volt.

This system receives power from a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.

Citroen Metropolis – Futuristic Hybrid Concept Car from the French Company

This plug-in hybrid limousine concept car was designed by an international team from Citroen exclusively for the prestigious Shanghai World Fair.

Dubbed Metropolis, the vehicle is 5.3 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.4 meters high.

The eco-friendliness of the vehicle is found in its ability to emit carbon dioxide in an extremely small amount, only 70g/km.

American Teenager Becomes the Youngest Person to Create Electric Car

A teenager from Ohio became the youngest person to ever create an electric vehicle. Deitrich Ludwig from Monclova, Ohio, managed to construct a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup electric truck, thus become the youngest person on the planet to boast such an achievement.

The young man replaced the gas engine with an eco-friendly electric drive train.
