A teenager from Ohio became the youngest person to ever create an electric vehicle. Deitrich Ludwig from Monclova, Ohio, managed to construct a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 pickup electric truck, thus become the youngest person on the planet to boast such an achievement.

The young man replaced the gas engine with an eco-friendly electric drive train. He got rid of the four-cylinder engine, radiator and exhaust system to be able to mount a DC electric motor, control system, battery charger and a pack of batteries.

As soon as Deitrich completed his first test ride, he decided to make a few more improvements, looking forward to cut the time required for the vehicle to charge and upgrade the performance of the electric truck, reports World Record Academy. To be able to achieve his new goals, Deitrich, aka Deke, decided to collaborate with schools, student groups and Green New Earth, organization with headquarters in Chicago that will fund the teen’s efforts.
