The company unveiled its new electric vehicle in Hong Kong on Thursday, May 20.
This is the first foreign launch of an eco-friendly vehicle from Mitsubishi, with the competition in the field of electric cars continuing to increase.
The i-MiEV electric car will soon go on sale and its price will be 395,000 Hong Kong dollars, which is about 50,000 US dollars.
In Hong Kong, Mitsubishi looks forward to sell 50 cars by the end of 2010. With his move the company steadily reaches other foreign markets.
The Japanese company has already managed to sell over 1,400 i-MiEV’s, most of which are owned by different companies and municipalities. On April Mitsubishi started selling its electric vehicle to individuals.
The i-MiEV will be marketed in the United States in 2011.
