Zerotracer – Electric Superbike to Go Around the World in 80 Days

The Zerotracer is a nice concept designed by a Swiss group entitled Design Werk.

This electric motorcycle will be used to travel around the world in 80 days. It will take part in the forthcoming Zero Emission Race.

It is worth mentioning that the eco-friendly bike registers a top speed of 160mph and has a range of 280 miles on a single charge.

The Zerotracer features a Kevlar skin that, though lightweight, offers a strong protection.

At their headquarters, the design team decided to replace the combustion engine of the bike with an advanced battery along with an electric engine. Because Zerotracer is a tandem seater, the bike makes use of a pair of retractable wheels that lower to the ground, thus stabilizing the motorcycle at lower speeds.

It would be interesting to note that the Zero Emission Race will start on August 15 in Geneva, Switzerland. A number of zero-emission vehicles will cross 22 countries and return to Geneva on January 22, 2011.
