Porsche has decided to complement the line of car manufacturers that included in their list electric vehicles.

The famous German carmaker is going to manufacture a limited number of experimental electric cars.

Recently Porsche announced about its plan to create an all-electric sports-car and will begin with a test of 3 electric Boxsters.

However, the field tests will start only in 2011, which means the actual electric Porsche Boxter is going to hit the market not very soon.

At the same time Michael Macht, President and Chief Executive Officer of Porsche AG, stated: “We will definitely be offering an electric sports car in future. But such a concept only makes sense if it offers product qualities typical of a Porsche.”

Currently Porsche is working on several of hybrid models, including the Porsche 911 GT3 R hybrid, the Cayenne hybrid and Porsche 918 Spyder concept car.
