Having the goal of creating a cost-friendly energy-efficient vehicle, the Renault-Nissan Alliance teamed up with India’s Bajaj Auto and managed to come up with a car called ULC.

The new, compact, eco-friendly vehicle costs just $3,000 and it is able to reach an inspiring 70mpg.

It is worth mentioning that Bajaj Auto is the second-largest bike producer in India and the Renault-Nissan Alliance has been cooperating with the Indian company for about 2 years.

However, the only last week the companies signed a memorandum of understanding (a document that describes a bilateral agreement between companies).

The new vehicle is expected to hit the Indian auto market in 2011. Renault-Nissan and Bajaj hope to sell around 200,000 vehicles each year.
