EPower Trucks, a company based in the United Kingdom, has recently presented its brand new all-electric light commercial car able to transport a payload of 670 kilograms.
The gross weight of the zero-emission vehicle is 3.5 tons and it will cost $47,000.
Besides being eco-friendly, the XT320E 3.5t is also rather inexpensive, considering that its price is about half the price of 3.5t electric vans sold on the market today.
The van uses maintenance-free lead-acid batteries that are also used today by the military in tanks.
It would be interesting to note that the batteries can still work properly at a temperature of up to -20 degrees Celsius.
Using the 13KWh battery pack, the vehicle can register a range of 60 miles per charge. When the battery runs out of power, the driver can easily replace it with a new one in a matter of minutes.
Because the vehicle comes with a double battery pack, its effective range is expanded to 120 miles.
