A Colorado-based company called Duke’s Garage, decided to add to their collection a new electric conversion vehicle.

It is worth mentioning that the company specializes in restoration of classic vehicles.

The new “old” car is called eSpeedster and it was officially presented at the 2011 Denver Auto Show. Complementing the line of replica cars created by Duke’s Garage, the vehicle is based on the popular 1957 Porsche 356A Speedster.

It would be interesting to note that the car has a 39.2 kW 3-phase AC electric motor. The latter is powered by lithium-ion-phosphate batteries.

The car’s electric motor also gets additional power from regenerative braking. According to the company, its zero-emission vehicle costs just 5 cents per mile to drive.

At the same time the eSpeedster boasts a nice leather interior. Inside you will also be able to discover an iPod-ready stereo and temperature control.

Engineers at Duke’s Garage made their new car available in blue, black, silver, and red. Currently two models are available for sale each with a price tag of just under $50,000.

The eSpeedster can reach a top speed of 90mph and register a range of 110 miles on a full charge. In order to completely recharge the vehicle you will need about 8 hours. More information can be found here.
