NYC Now Has a Hybrid Street Sweeper

The New York City can now boast the world’s first hybrid street sweeper that can reach a top speed of 60mph and clean the streets at a speed of 7mph with carbon footprint reduced to minimum.

Dubbed the Allianz 4000, the vehicle includes a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel motor, two 12-volt lithium-ion batteries and an electric-traction drive system.

Honda X-Track – Hybrid Sports Car with Two Driving Modes

Nikita Kalinin, a talented designer who is responsible for a number of crazy concept cars has recently unveiled its latest creation – the next-generation sports coupe dubbed Honda X-Track.

The two-seater vehicle is powered by a hybrid engine and it can be used in 2 modes: street mode and track mode.

Hummer H1 Transformed Into Zero South Biodiesel Car for South Pole Trip

Recently a company called Zero South presented its Biodiesel Electric Hummer.

The modified version of the famous Hammer H1 features tracks on all of its fours corners. This was made to make the vehicle suitable for South Pole travel.

Urbee – World’s First 3-D Printed Vehicle

Urbee is the brainchild of Stratasys and Kor Ecologic. The two managed to create the world’s first vehicle that had its entire body 3D printed.

The layers of the material were printed on top of each other until the actual body of the vehicle was created.

2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid

The main feature of this hybrid vehicle is fuel efficiency that is obtained with relatively little performance sacrifice.

The heart of 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid is Ford’s 2.5-liter Hybrid Powersplit drivetrain, a combination of a 156hp 2.5-liter, Atkinson cycle gasoline motor and a 106hp AC electric engine.

Being a parallel hybrid, this car can run on electric power, gasoline power of a fusion of the two. It is able to show an average fuel economy of 41 miles per gallon in the city and 36 on the highway.

Fiat to Produce Hybrid Version of Its Small TwinAir 500

The Italian carmaker Fiat looks forward to start developing a hybrid version of its compact vehicle TwinAir 500, able to register over 100mpg.

Engineers at Fiat will give the 900cc two-cylinder vehicle an electric boost, thus reducing carbon dioxide emissions to just 70g/km.
