Maxximus Prodigy – Luxury Super Car Powered by Liquid Natural Gas

The car-making company Maxximus is currently working on an eco-friendly vehicle that will run on liquid natural gas (LNG) and wear a price tag of $1,000,000.

The super car is called Prodigy and its design is based on the design of the LNG 2000 prototype model. It would be interesting to note that the vehicle would be the world’s first super car powered by LNG.

According to the company, its new vehicle will boast an interior that is close to that of a Rolls Royce. From these words it is possible to draw the conclusion that Maxximus looks forward to compete on the market of supercars with such giants as Ferrari and Tesla Motors.

In the picture you can see the LNG 2000 designed by Marlon Kirby of Indianapolis. He worked on the project for about two years.

The vehicle with its twin turbocharges is said to generate 2,000Hp, and show acceleration from 0 to 60mph in about 2 seconds. In addition, according to Kirby the car can reach a top speed of 300 mph.

Judging from the information provided by the company [PDF], there are at least 5 millionaires willing to acquire the luxury eco-friendly super car.

AEGT01 – World’s Most Powerful Electric Supercar from Quimera

Quimera looks forward to present what it claims to be the most powerful electric vehicle in the world.

Dubbed AEGT01, the electric super car makes use of Lithium Polymer EIG battery packs that allow it to reach a speed of 180 miles per hour.

The vehicle is expected to appear at the Motorland in Alcaniz, Spain next month. Until then the company decided to unveil a teaser video of the car.

Thanks to the trio of UQM motors that generate 700hp, Quimera’s AEGT01 is able to show acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds.

It is worth mentioning that the company’s vehicle is the world’s first racecar to be entirely powered by electric batteries and motors, being able to compete in terms of performance with some of combustion engine racecars.

Next year Quimera will allow drivers and teams to carry out test drives of its new vehicle. It would be interesting to note that the company has already gained popularity thanks to its electric scooters, solar-powered scooters, and commercial vans.

Tesla Model S Equipped with Giant 17-inch Touchscreen Replacing the Dashboard

The much anticipated Tesla Model S electric supercar is expected to be launched onto the market in 2012 with its main competitor being BMW-5 series.

Boasting high-performance, the famous luxury electric sedan will boast a huge vertical 17-inch touchscreen mounted at the front.

It would be interesting to note that the touchscreen will be the largest ever mounted on any production vehicle.

The device will be able to provide 3D graphics, being powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. In addition, the touchscreen continually sports a 3G connection.

It will replace the whole array of buttons and a lot of other controls that are usually located on the dashboard.

The new processor from NVIDIA features 8 dedicated computing cores. It is also the first mobile 1080p HD video processor on the planet.

There will be two processors used on the device – one dedicated to infotainment and navigation and the other one for the instrument cluster.

The touchscreen will boast such features as live traffic, climate-control system and more. Users will have the possibility to visit Google maps, play favorite music or surf the Internet.

Tesla Model S will have a charging time of only 45 minutes and wear a price tag of $50,000. This year the vehicle will be on display at the CES 2011 outside the Las Vegas Convention Center in the Central Plaza.

Students Turn Audi into Electric Vehicle that Also Harnesses Solar Energy

In order to demonstrate that it is possible to mix an electric car with a solar-powered one, a group of students from Georgia Tech has presented their latest project – an electric vehicle that can harness solar energy.

Members of the team entitled Solar Jackets recently unveiled their super car at the Buckhead Eco-Collection.

They managed to transform an Audi into a “solar-assisted electric vehicle”, equipping it with two batteries that can be charged by plugging the car’s charger into an electric socket.

The bigger battery is used to power the vehicle while the smaller one powers windows, steering and brakes. It is worth mentioning that with the help of solar panels, the car can harness solar energy that is stored on the smaller battery.

According to the tech aerospace engineering student Corbin Klett of Buford, currently the team is working hard on the design of car so it could compete in the forthcoming World Solar Challenge that will take part in Australia.

Veritas RSIII Roadster Hybrid – The Quickest Hybrid Vehicle on the Planet

A combination of eco-friendliness and high performance is what the beautiful Veritas RSIII Roadster Hybrid can boast with.

It would be interesting to note that the core of this green supercar is the BMW-sourced V10 engine that can generate 507-horsepower and allow the vehicle to register acceleration from 0 to 60mph in just 3.1 seconds.

This figure is even better than the all-petrol version of the same model. Inside the model developed by Vermot AG one will be able to find a lithium-ion battery pack.

The top speed of this white beast is 205mph. By using the electric engine alone, the car can register a range of 31 miles.

It is worth mentioning that the Veritas RSIII Roadster is also equipped with Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) that offers additional power to the li-ion battery by making use of regenerative braking technology.

According to the head of Vermot’s board, the company plans to launch a coupe version of its green vehicle. The presentation is expected to be this summer. In addition, by 2013 Vermot looks forward to launching an all-electric version.

Mitsuoka Motors Unveils Himiko – Classic Electric Supercar

The majority of electric vehicles that run on the streets today take modern forms, but a Japanese firm called Mitsuoka Motors came up with the idea of making an electric car with a classic design.

The company’s electric supercar is based on the contemporary Mazda NC MX-5 sports car and is called the Himiko. The car is not only environmentally friendly but is also very stylish.

Buckeye Bullet EV Boasts an Average Speed of 291mph

Renault DeZir – New All-Electric Supercar from the French Carmaker

The famous French car-making company Renault has recently presented the design of its new eco-friendly supercar. The new green vehicle, called DeZir, embodies Renault’s new slogan “Drive the Change.”
